Nineteen wood engravers, one collector and the artists who inspired them.

Compiled and with an introduction by Nigel Hamway. Edited by Peter Lawrence.

Published in 2020 to mark the Centenary of the Society of Wood Engravers, this is a unique collection which has relied heavily on the generosity of loanees, both private and institutions from across the world, to whom we are very grateful. A year on press, this book links past with present, and provides a fitting tribute to the skills of the engravers and the part played by the Society in the history of wood engraving.

325 x 250 mm, 100 pp., printed on Zerkall mould-made paper using Monotype Perpetua (Series 239) cast by Neil Winter at the Whittington Press in an addition of 340 copies of which:

290 C copies are half-bound in cloth & printed papers. In a slipcase. £245 (£195 pre-publication). Images 1–6.

30 B copies, half-bound in Oasis leather & printed papers, come with a portfolio containing both sets of engravings. In a slipcase. £895 (£770 pre-publication). Images 7–14.
